NOTE: Last day to enroll is Thursday April 24th
DMVWhisky Education is holding an Associate Bourbon Steward Certification class on Saturday, May 3rd from 1-4:30pm at the Courtyard Tysons McLean. Designed for industry professionals and bourbon enthusiasts alike, this half-day in-depth program is designed so that once you’re a Bourbon Steward, you’ll be able to discuss America’s native spirit confidently and accurately, as well as be able to make recommendations to friends, family, and others based on their individual taste and preferences.
Course Overview Certification Process
Stave & Thief Society was founded in 2014, and is the first bourbon certification program recognized by the bourbon industry and the only to be recognized by the Kentucky Distillers Association as its "Official Bourbon Education Course." The program was developed by professional distilling and spirits educators and advised by a panel of experts in the bourbon and hospitality industries to provide a premium, standardized bourbon education that is accessible and holds real value.
This in-person course is being taught by an Executive Bourbon Steward from DMVWhisky Education, a Stave & Thief Society Establishment Member. The afternoon will be fun and interactive with included bourbon tastings. At the end of the day, we’ll take a test and everyone who passes will earn the title Associate Bourbon Steward in the Stave & Thief Society until the end of time.
